Mathematics and Science Exam Preparation Project (MASEPP)
This project aims to give Grade 12 learners participating in the both the SET and VWSA Maths Incubator School Project the opportunity to prepare themselves for the trial and final exams.
This project is offered in the June/July school holiday. MASEPP is offered at the Missionvale Campus over a two week period. During the first week the focus is on Mathematics whereas the second week focuses on the study of Physical Science. Suitably qualified Mathematics and Physical Science Educators are utilised in presenting this programme to learners.
Learners who were selected for the Engineering Winter School are exposed to the Science Exam Prep as part of the Engineering Winter School Programme.
To assist those learners who cannot attend the MASSEPP during the July holiday, an extra MASEPP session is held after completion of the Maths Incubator School programme.
Typical Delivery Model:
Specialized Exam Preparation DVD’s are utilized in an interactive way in the classroom with a DVD-player and data projector a part of the delivery architecture.
Special exam preparation text books tare also used by learners throughout this period.
The daily MASEPP delivery model is as follows:
08:30 – 10:30 Session 1
Interactive DVD Presentations
10:30 – 11:00 Refreshment Break
11:00 – 13:00 Session 2
DVD Discussions and Tutorials Group Work
All participating learners receive DVD resource material i.e. ExaMath DVD’s and special exam preparation text books.
